Methaneva is a french company which has developed original techniques for treatment of biogas. The Company ended her 18-month period of incubation by signing its first contracts. Methaneva promotes its expertise in the utilization of biogas from three priority sectors involved :
- agriculture,
- agri – food ,
- communities (treatment plants, central landfill),
The methane is part of a virtuous circle of sustainable development : the methane is a natural biological process of transformation of organic carbon in biogas decomposition in closed vessels in a liquid or dry, in the absence of air and light. This technique has long been seen as a way to treat the waste or effluent, producing a biogas that eliminates annoying combustion.
Accounts of increased energy costs and the current redemption price of electricity, it is now economically viable to develop the biogas consisting primarily of methane. The biogas produced can then be used to generate clean energy, renewable and storable whose uses are manifold: electricity, heat, cold and even after purification fuel bio methane for vehicles running on natural gas .
France is lagging behind European neighbors in the installation of sites for waste treatment by anaerobic digestion facilities with only 75 sites on agro-industrial, 4 on farms less than 20% of CET and 1/3 treatment plants.
Méthaneva highlights its industrial expertise to position itself as a consultancy firm specialized in the realization of methanization facilities, treatment and recovery of biogas. The company offers original process to optimize stages of digestion, and innovative models of treatment and recovery of biogas for different types of waste to be treated and the customer needs. Its leader Patrice Renard wants to maintain a strong R & D to maintain its technological edge and develop new processes for recovery of biogas.
The first targeted market segments are farms, where the potential of biogas is the most important, the industry must find ways of economic interest to comply with environmental regulations, and local authorities (Centers for Landfill waste and sewage treatment plants) that could directly use bio-methane for their fleets of vehicles. Méthaneva has signed a commercial agreement and technical cooperation with the French subsidiary of Biogas Nord. The German methane constructor created in 1996 has already made nearly 200 installations in Germany and the USA, Thailand, Cuba, ….
